Our Story
Before Talita Cumi was Talita Cumi, it existed under the name of Fe y Esperanza (Faith and Hope) on a property seized from a drug trafficker by the Bolivian government. It was in 2001, after the first director left, that God really began to do incredible things in the lives of the staff and kids at the home. That year, a twenty-two-year-old-girl named Graciela Alba who had been praying about how she might serve the Lord, took over the home in a leap of faith, taking the children under her care. Over the years, through prayer, hard work, and perseverance, along with the contributions of missionaries, their supporters and frequent short-term mission teams, the home is now in a new location, with a much brighter future. But that’s just the abridged version. We’d love to share more about our journey and the incredible ways God has come through for the orphanage!
